ATI/AMD Proprietary Drivers Xubuntu 13.04 Lockup on Login
I have tried searching Google, this website and followed the tutorial at http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Raring_Installation_Guide#Installing_Proprietary_Drivers_a.k.a._Catalyst.2Ffglrx.
Everytime I install the ATI proprietary drivers no matter what method I use my system locks up when logging in. I enter my password and the login box goes away, the screen flashes and then nothing. No toolbars or icons, just the wallpaper. If I uninstall the drivers the system runs fine.
The only customizing I have done to the installation is http://www.webupd8.org/2012/11/how-to-use-multiple-monitors-in-xubuntu.html
My graphics card is identified as:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Juniper PRO [Radeon HD 5750]
I appreciate any help that someone may provide as I cannot find the correct answer myself.
